by Gina L. from Virtuous Daughters, June 2016~Volume 16, Number 3 "Panning for Gold" Proverbs 31 Study Part 3 ~Proverbs 31:12~ Proverbs 31:12 states that the Virtuous Woman will do her husband good and not evil all the days of her life.
Many young girls reading this verse think perhaps this sounds like a very easy task. They imagine a sort of knight in shining armor who comes to sweep them off their feet and whisk them to a wonderful land of romance and togetherness where they only desire to do this brave, kind man good and never evil….or maybe they just expect a good Christian young man to come calling, and that since they both love Christ, doing him good will sort of just come naturally. by Naomi B. from Virtuous Daughters, October/November 2016~Volume 16, Numbers 7-8 “Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and not be afraid: for the LORD JEHOVAH
is my strength and my song; He also is become my salvation.” Isaiah 12:2 by Tiffany S. from Virtuous Daughters, June/July 2019, Volume 19, Number 2 I once heard someone say that our breaking point can become our break-through point when we accept the grace of God. I have certainly found this to be true in my life....
by Cheryl S. from Virtuous Daughters, September 2005~Volume 5, Number 6 Dear Virtuous Daughters,
This month [September 2005] I wanted to discuss a lesson that is somewhat close to our hearts. September marks losses for our family. A dear family, as well as friends of ours that we have come to know and love, are moving far away. What bittersweet feelings of both sorrow for seeing them go - and joy for what the Lord will do in their lives. Even though each of them hold a special place in each of our hearts, for Tiffany this is the second close friend she has seen move away in the last year. For her, the feeling of loss is greater. As Tiffany and I discussed this loss of her friend living close by, we were reminded of the only real assurance and security in this world. I thought about each of you girls. Have you ever felt the feelings of loss? It could be as small as the loss of something you misplaced, or as great as the loss of someone you love. Either way, this life on earth is eventually about loss. With time, you will lose friends, family, your youth, your health, and eventually your life. by Naomi B. from Virtuous Daughters, October/November 2017~Volume 17, Number 4 Long was the road He walked,
Heavy the cross He bore, Piercing the nails that tore, Yet greater, His love. by Tiffany S. from Virtuous Daughters, February/March 2019~Volume 18, Number 6 Consecrated. What comes to mind when you hear that word? Do you think of an elderly saint who has 90% of the Bible memorized? Or perhaps a missionary serving in a far-away land? Maybe you think of a Christian who has remained faithful to the Lord amidst great trials. But I believe that it is God's desire for all believers to be not only sanctified (separated), but consecrated (separated unto Christ). This is certainly not instantaneous. It begins at salvation and continues until we meet Him face to face.
Several years ago my pastor preached a sermon from Isaiah 43 that deeply impacted my life. I will incorporate some of my notes into this article, and I pray the truths I learned (and am continuing to learn!) will encourage you in your own walk with the Lord. by Cheryl S. from Virtuous Daughters, February 2006~Volume 5, Number 11 "I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.”—John 14:18
Darling Virtuous Daughters, “The Fellowship of Loneliness, what a strange title . . . what a paradox!” you must be thinking. But, dear girls, it is my hopes to show you just this. The greatest fellowship often comes during times of loneliness. Of course that fellowship is with the Lord Jesus Christ. Now, girls, I have felt the depths of loneliness in my lifetime. I understand that when you are in the midst of it, it can feel quite sorrowful at times. So I write this with compassion knowing that if you are experiencing loneliness right now, you are probably experiencing pain along with it. But be encouraged, there is Hope and Help. |
