by Naomi B. from Virtuous Daughters, October/November 2017~Volume 17, Number 4 Long was the road He walked, Heavy the cross He bore, Piercing the nails that tore, Yet greater, His love. Great was my debt of sin,
Dark all my heart so stained, Strong was the sin that reigned, Yet greater, His love. Strong is the evil one, Fierce may the battle rage, Terrible sin’s awful wage, Yet greater, His love. Dreary the road ahead, Heavy the load of fear, Piercing the sorrowing tear, Yet greater, His love. Glittering in this world, Insistent its giddy call, Showing this life as all, Yet greater, His love. Great all the trials may be Daunting the test ahead, Aching the heart that bled, Yet greater, His love. Terrible the wrong ‘twas done, Strong, galling bitterness, Hard, the forgiveness, Yet greater, His love. Willingly, I follow Christ, Gladly I heed His call. Joyfully, give my all, For greater, Christ’s love. Comments are closed.
