by Cindy from Virtuous Daughters, October 2003~Volume 3, Number 7 Girls, have you ever had a really hard day and nothing has gone right? You got up late, had to rush through breakfast to get started on school work, then you’ve got piano practice and chores to do before helping mom with dinner, and the list goes on and on? You can say—no shout—with Elijah, “I’ve had enough, Lord!” (1 Kings 19:4)
by Danielle from Virtuous Daughters, April 2003~Volume 3, Number 1 When looking for jewels,
You must look high and low, Here and there, and back again. If you don’t find one, Something must have gone wrong. For there are jewels, everywhere, High and low, here and there. And even more when you go back again. Every person is a jewel- A precious jewel, Their heart is a jewel, Their soul is a treasure, Their presence is worth more Than a thousand pieces of gold. And their love is worth more Than everything good in the world. So treasure them now, For someday they may not be there To love and make you happy. by Brianna from Virtuous Daughters, July 2003~Volume 3, Number 4 Cooking—what a subject! It’s a word that brings to mind thoughts of steaming, cinnamony, hot Apple pie or a cheese-loaded, pepperoni-smothered, homemade pizza just out of the oven! It might also bring to mind some flops with less desirable smells and tastes. Now I don’t know about you, but I really like to cook and the Lord has blessed me with a Mom and Grandma that love to cook too. And of course as with anyone who cooks or bakes, I have made many embarrassing and inedible dishes, of some I will relate to you here.

by Cheryl S. from Virtuous Daughters, March 2004~Volume 3, Number 12 Some encouragement for the dear mothers,
Even though I have never written to you before in this newsletter, I hoped to encourage you in this area. Time management…is this not something that all mothers struggle with at some point in their lives? When we stand before the throne of our heavenly Lord, will we have used our time wisely? Psalm 90:12 says, “So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.” And Ephesians 5:15-17 says, “See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil. Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is.” A big topic that has been in our home lately is “Are you a ‘Martha’ or a ‘Mary’?” It all stemmed from a tape set that I recently purchased to help me with the #1 struggle I had been having over the last year…. by Tiffany S. from Virtuous Daughters, November 2001~Volume 1, Number 8 & November 2003~Volume 3, Number 8 It’s that time of the year again when we give thanks to our gracious Lord and Savior for all that He has done in our lives! Need some scrumptious recipes? Need a craft idea? What about a new tradition to start each Thanksgiving? Maybe these are some help to you! :)
