by Cheryl S. from Virtuous Daughters, March 2004~Volume 3, Number 12 Some encouragement for the dear mothers,
Even though I have never written to you before in this newsletter, I hoped to encourage you in this area. Time management…is this not something that all mothers struggle with at some point in their lives? When we stand before the throne of our heavenly Lord, will we have used our time wisely? Psalm 90:12 says, “So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.” And Ephesians 5:15-17 says, “See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil. Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is.” A big topic that has been in our home lately is “Are you a ‘Martha’ or a ‘Mary’?” It all stemmed from a tape set that I recently purchased to help me with the #1 struggle I had been having over the last year…. by Tiffany S. from Virtuous Daughters, November 2001~Volume 1, Number 8 & November 2003~Volume 3, Number 8 It’s that time of the year again when we give thanks to our gracious Lord and Savior for all that He has done in our lives! Need some scrumptious recipes? Need a craft idea? What about a new tradition to start each Thanksgiving? Maybe these are some help to you! :)
by Tiffany S. from Virtuous Daughters, March 2004~Volume 3, Number 12 Although most people look at the outer beauty of a person, God looks at the heart. It is far more important to beautify our hearts than our bodies. “But the Lord said unto Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have refused him: for the Lord seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the Lord looketh on the heart.” 1 Samuel 16:7
Some of the qualities of a truly beautiful person are as follows: Meekness, Love, Joy, Peace, and Determination. by Cheryl S. from Virtuous Daughters, December 2003~Volume 3, Number 9 Darling Virtuous Daughters,
Would you like to give a gift really special this Christmas? Well, I have a challenge for you. It is a gift that you will give someone, yet they will never open it. It is the gift of Jesus' love! by Cheryl S. from Virtuous Daughters, August 2003~Volume 3, Number 5 Darling Virtuous Daughters,
As I typed my greeting to you, I couldn’t help but wonder if you get tired of me calling you this. Do you ever wonder why I greet you this way each time? Please know that it is with sincerity in my heart that I call you this. You see, as I type to you, I think of each of you, and I ask the Lord to use me in some way to bless you and encourage you in your search for Him. I think of each of your sweet, smiling faces shining for Jesus. I think of how each of you are God’s workmanship, created in His image, to glorify Him all of your days. Psalm 139:14 “…I am fearfully and wonderfully made…” I am filled with joy when I think of the beautiful virtuous daughters each of you are becoming. What a radiant future! by Brittany S. from Virtuous Daughters, August 2003~Volume 3, Number 5 “…for thou art a gracious and merciful God.” Nehemiah 9:31 I want to tell you a story I read in my book...
One day there were two girls in school. One was Ida, and one was Stephanie. Ida was not very pretty, but was a small, nice, loving girl, always having a smile on her face. She was a sweet young woman. Then there was Stephanie. She was pretty and always wanted to be the leader, and have someone follow her. But she was prideful. by Tiffany S. from Virtuous Daughters, August 2003~Volume 3, Number 5 In school last year, I was directed to choose a person and do a persuasive research paper. After much thought and doubt as to if I would have enough sources, I chose to write about First Lady Dolley Madison. Surprisingly, I found several sources, and much information to support my thesis statement: “Dolley Madison set a good example for America’s future First Ladies by being a gracious and generous hostess.”
