by Candace Joy from Virtuous Daughters, July 2008~Volume 8, Number 4 Recently, I have been very blessed to meditate on the love of God. In this article, I hope to draw your attention to the unfathomable love that God has for us, His children, as well as the result that this love should produce in our lives. This is by no means exhaustive, and I encourage you to study this topic further.
by Tiffany S. from Virtuous Daughters, December 2006~Volume 6, Number 9 Christmas—what a special time of year! For many, it is a favorite holiday. But the meaning goes far beyond cookies, music, and presents. It’s about the risen Christ Who has come to this world to save us from our sins. That is something to be excited about!
Even though most of us are quite aware of this wonderful news, we occasionally take it for granted and do not joyfully share it with others. But Christmas is a time when we have ample opportunity to proclaim Christ’s birth, death, resurrection, and the Gospel message. Here I would like to share with you an idea of a way to do that. by Mrs. Lori B. from Virtuous Daughters, June 2010~Volume 10, Number 3 “In the Garden”
I come to the garden alone while the dew is still on the roses And the voice I hear falling on my ear the Son of God discloses. (Refrain) And He walks with me, and He talks with me, And He tells me I am His own; and the joy we share as we tarry there, None other has ever known. He speaks, and the sound of His voice, is so sweet the birds hush their singing, And the melody that He gave to me within my heart is ringing. I’d stay in the garden with Him though the night around me be falling, But He bids me go; through the voice of woe His voice to me is calling. (words and music by C. Austin Miles, 1868–1946) |
