Where is My Undo Button?*

9/30/2024

by Tiffany S.
from Virtuous Daughters, September 2004~Volume 4, Number 6

Anyone who spends even a small amount of time on computers is familiar with the convenient “undo” button. :) It is in Microsoft Word, all of the craft and card programs, and even some games.  But I have learned that in the reality of life, there is no undo button.  When I make a mistake or say something I later regret, I cannot take it back.  I can do my best to fix it, but I can never take back the past- what happened yesterday, last month, or last year.

The Goodness of God*

2/6/2023

by Hannah
from Virtuous Daughters, September 2004~Volume 4, Number 6

Dear Sisters,

Over the past few weeks God has just overwhelmed me with His awesome goodness, love and faithfulness! Do you ever wonder if God hears your prayers? Well, I just wanted to remind you that He does! About a month ago, I was a little discouraged and I just asked God to remind me of His goodness. I knew God was good; I just needed a reminder. Nothing is too little, small, or simple for God. God wants us to trust Him for everything!

Do you ever ask God for everyday things? Have you asked God for material things? What about little things you would like to have, but you just don’t have the money for?... We want to be careful not to put God in a box or be demanding of Him. We need to realize that God’s will is truly best and desire it more than our own. We need to learn to be content no matter what. :)

by Cheryl S.
from Virtuous Daughters, November 2004~Volume 4, Number 8

Darling Virtuous Daughters,

Let’s first try to discern wants from needs.  Here is a partial definition in our dictionary of them both: 1. Want-to desire greatly; wish.  2. Need- a lack of something necessary.  Looking at these definitions we see that a want is a desire, while a need is a necessity.  It is apparent that we may not even want what we need.  It is also apparent that we may not even need what we want.  Does that confuse you?  Let’s consider both of these situations:
