by Brittany S. from Virtuous Daughters, July 2008~Volume 8, Number 4 Dear Virtuous Daughters, One thing God has been teaching me lately is to apply Galatians 6:2 to my life. “Bear ye one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.” It is easy to go on with life and only think about ourselves, but I have been trying to think about others instead. Sometimes I don’t want to “bear one another’s burdens,” but then I remember Galatians 6:2 and do it. After all, you can’t argue the Bible! When you don’t want to do the right thing, ask yourself, “Am I going to obey God right now?” More than likely, you will go ahead and obey Him without even thinking about it!
One thing that you can do for your parents is be a good example to your younger siblings. Especially if you live in a large family with lots of little ones, your parents are probably very busy. Even though they teach their children about the Lord, an extra godly example is always beneficial. You can be a good example by teaching the little ones biblical principles and Bible stories. Ethan (5) and I have had many good discussions about the Bible. It is fun and rewarding to set a good example for your younger siblings; not only in your speech, but in your actions as well. Even though we may not realize it, children listen intently to everything we say. How nice it would be to lead them in the right direction! God bless you all! Comments are closed.
