by Elizabeth L. from Virtuous Daughters, April 2015~Volume 15, Number 1 I am a daughter, young and full
of hopes, ideas, dreams; And daughter I will always be, unlasting as it seems. For other titles loom ahead-- a family God may bring; But wife or mom, still most of all, I’m daughter to the King. I need not wait to fill my place of servant of the Lord; Nor will I lose this title dear, if I take on one more. For in the place where I now stand, there’s much to learn and do; The truth is that my heart is free, the Lord’s will to pursue. It’s not as though I can’t be God’s, when I become man’s wife; For daughter to Him I will be all seasons of my life. The point I mustn’t miss is this: to serve Him from here on; And not to wait ‘til seasons new, Nor stop when those times come. Comments are closed.
