Holy Lamb of God: Ideas for Celebration & Worship during Easter Season

  • Memorize Isaiah 53 (or another passage of Scripture) alone or with your family. Depending on the number of people, each person could memorize 1 or 2 verses; by Easter Sunday, you will be ready to quote it as a group!
  • Greet people in public with “Happy Resurrection Day” or “Christ is Risen!” Easter weekend. Be friendly. Ask store clerks what they are doing to celebrate Easter. Pray for the Lord to give opportunities to share His truth with others. Then be sensitive to His leading. There might even be a chance to invite a lost person to your church’s Easter Sunday service!
  • Each day of the Passion Week, read about the events that occurred on that specific day. You will be on a journey as you follow our Lord’s incredibly excruciating final days before His crucifixion. You will watch our Savior suffer and bleed and die for us. You will think about the grief and loss of the disciples on Friday-Saturday. On Easter morning you will rejoice exceedingly that our Lord has conquered sin and death and lives forevermore!
  • Sing or listen to hymns/songs during the Passion Week that relate to the events of each day.
  • Send Resurrection Day greeting cards to family and friends.
  • Give spring flowers as gifts for friends. An Easter Lily is special!!
  • Sew or purchase matching Easter dresses for the ladies of the family. The guys can color-coordinate too!
  • Make Resurrection Day memorable with unique traditions - special meal, extra family time, small gifts, and exalting the goodness of God together. One family likes to create fancy icecream “Sundays” on Easter Sunday!
  • Consider Christ Who endured such contradiction of sinners against Himself, lest you be wearied and faint in your mind (Hebrews 12:3). Several years ago, one of our pastors gave a challenge to set aside extra time during the Easter holiday to “behold the beauty of the Lord” (Psalm 27:4) in praise, worship, and adoration of His great love for us.
