by Martha Joy from Virtuous Daughters, July 2015~Volume 15, Number 4 There is a passage that’s well known
A spread of words that have been sown These words speak of a woman maid, Who is of a noble trade. Her work is not for money or fame; Wealth she has not, nor famous name. One thing she has, I will tell you: This lady has hope and a Master true. She knows not what tomorrow will bring, Yet in her heart His praises ring. “Abide in Me, and I in you”; She has things that she must do. For she desires to live for God’s purpose, For through His Son she has been purchased. Yet she still needs strength for the day, Which her Father sends her way. She sows seeds of kindness along, And brings joy to others through smile and song. She sews and she sweeps and she cleans too. She is an example for me and for you. She’s blessed among women and one hard to find, One who’s so loving and thoughtful and kind. She is a true beauty, not only in face; Her heart is the part that’s real beauty embraced. No matter your age, your past or your start, What the Father desires is really your heart. So thank Him right now for the work He’s begun, And seek to be like her of Proverbs 31. Comments are closed.
