Sweet Potato (Winter Squash) Casserole

Stir butter to soften; gradually add sugar. Add eggs and vanilla. Fold in mashed squash/potatoes. Turn into well greased, 1 ½ to 2 quart casserole dish. Sprinkle top with topping (see below). Bake at 350 for 40-45 minutes.
Mix brown sugar with flour; cut in butter until crumbly. Cut in pecans. Sprinkle over sweet potato or squash.
