Hoagie Buns

  • 2 T. yeast                                                 
  • 2 T. sugar                                              
  • 1 T. salt                              
  • 8 to 8 1/2 c. white flour
  • 3 c. water at 115 degrees
  • 1/4 c. oil
 
Combine yeast, sugar, salt, and two cups of flour in a bowl. Stir, and then add the water. Next add the oil and stir. Continue to add flour till too stiff to stir, and then knead for 6-8 minutes. By the time you are done, the dough should be firm and not sticky. Heat oven at 400 degrees. Roll out dough, cut out buns at desired size, and place on greased baking sheet. Bake for 20 minutes or until golden brown. Take from oven and place on cooling racks. Produces about two dozen.
