Easiest Cut Out Cookies

1 c. butter or margarine                 
1 c. sugar
1 egg
3 c. flour                                             
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. vanilla
 
Mix the butter and sugar together.  Then, mix the egg in.  Mix the flour and baking powder in, and then add the vanilla.  Roll the dough out and cut out shapes.  Put on a cookie sheet and bake at 400° for 7-8 minutes.  Note! When you add the flour in it might take about 10 minutes to fully mix and have a nice mixed dough without bits of flour here and there.
