by Kristin from Virtuous Daughters, May 2010~Volume 10, Number 2 Entrepreneurialism. What is it exactly, besides a big word that many people can’t spell? To be an entrepreneur is defined as: “A person who has possession of a new enterprise, venture or idea, and assumes significant accountability for the inherent risks and the outcome.” Or, in simpler terms, having an idea for a way to make a profit and starting to do it. The business world is full of entrepreneurs, successful businesses, raising capital, and more, but what does entrepreneurialism have to do with young ladies?
by Rebekah from Virtuous Daughters, April 2015~Volume 15, Number 1 “Tying or binding up—captivating.” This is the meaning of the name, Rebekah, a girl found in the Bible. Rebekah was not only beautiful on the outside, but on the inside as well. “...For the Lord does not see as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.”—1 Samuel 16:7b
Right now we are going to take a peek into Rebekah’s heart as a young woman... by Susannah from Virtuous Daughters, August 2006~Volume 6, Number 5 Dear Young Ladies,
I have found that exercise helps a lot! I especially like doing it around the house, like…doing just ten jumping jacks. Or sometimes I have races with my siblings. That’s pretty fun! I also like running in the backyard with my dogs. You could also make a chart for yourself. And one thing that helped me get into the routine of exercising is to only do a little bit one day, then do more and more each day so that you get better. Also make up some stuff and mix it in with other exercises, and then have some fun with naming them weird stuff like “Hippopotamus Jump,” or something like that. Well, I hope you find my tips useful. In His Service, Susannah by Danielle from Virtuous Daughters, April 2003~Volume 3, Number 1 When looking for jewels,
You must look high and low, Here and there, and back again. If you don’t find one, Something must have gone wrong. For there are jewels, everywhere, High and low, here and there. And even more when you go back again. Every person is a jewel- A precious jewel, Their heart is a jewel, Their soul is a treasure, Their presence is worth more Than a thousand pieces of gold. And their love is worth more Than everything good in the world. So treasure them now, For someday they may not be there To love and make you happy. by Kristin from Virtuous Daughters, February 2006~Volume 5, Number 11 Almost everyone likes new beginnings! From new babies, to little chicks, to a new day, there is something exciting and inspiring about the phrase “a new beginning.” As the year opens, how are you going to begin it? Since we are Christians, bought with Jesus’ blood and saved by His grace, we should want to please Him in everything we do. How would He want you to begin this new year?
by Candace Joy from Virtuous Daughters, December 2007~Volume 7, Number 9 As a family, we have some traditions that we incorporate into our Christmas celebration of Christ’s birth. I will mention a few that we do and then explain one in detail.

by Carolina from Virtuous Daughters, June 2016~Volume 16, Number 3 The past two years for my family have stretched us to lengths I didn’t think possible. Or normal. But because of this stretching, I have seen seasons of distant relationships and thick bonding moments. All good things, as I’m always reminded in Romans 8:28, but we are still a remarkably busy family. And our individual selves are even busier.
Well, my sisters are busy; I’m just along for the ride, right? ‘Cause, as usual, I just have school. by Tiffany S. from Virtuous Daughters, December/January 2018~Volume 18, Number 5 Recently I was reading through an old journal and found some lessons the Lord had taught me about "wholehearted devotion to Christ." It was good for me to be reminded of these things, and I thought I would share with you as well!
First Corinthians 7:34 tells us that our single years are a priceless opportunity to serve the Lord without distraction. But sometimes it seems like the longer we wait, the easier it can be to become distracted. :) (I remember reading Titus 2:13 "Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ," and being challenged to stay on the "look-out" for the glorious appearing of my Savior, not the glorious appearing of someone else! :)) How can we keep our eyes on Christ and offer Him single-hearted devotion during this season of our lives? God used the life of Ezekiel to teach me some important truths along these lines. Read with me about the Lord's calling on Ezekiel's life: "And He said unto me, Son of man, I send thee to the children of Israel, to a rebellious nation that hath rebelled against Me: they and their fathers have transgressed against Me, even unto this very day. For they are impudent children and stiffhearted. I do send thee unto them; and thou shalt say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD. And they, whether they will hear, or whether they will forbear, (for they are a rebellious house,) yet shall know that there hath been a prophet among them. And thou, son of man, be not afraid of them, neither be afraid of their words, though briers and thorns be with thee, and thou dost dwell among scorpions: be not afraid of their words, nor be dismayed at their looks, though they be a rebellious house. And thou shalt speak My words unto them, whether they will hear, or whether they will forbear: for they are most rebellious. But thou, son of man, hear what I say unto thee; Be not thou rebellious like that rebellious house: open thy mouth, and eat that I give thee." - Ezekiel 2:3-8 |
